3 Reasons to Start a Passive Residual Income

Author: Lee Moss

Having a passive residual income flow can bring a lot of freedom and opportunities into your life. Following are 3 of the many reasons you should start building a passive residual income now.

1. Once you have built a residual cash flow, the money continues to come in after the initial work is done. You are making money even when you are not working. It comes in whether you are eating, sleeping, or taking a vacation. This really comes in handy if you become sick. Imagine you are stuck in the hospital for a few days or longer and your medical bills are piling up. At least you would still have cash coming in to help cover the expenses.

2. Passive income brings about personal freedom. If you build a large enough stream of residual income, you will not have to work for another employer or company. You can work when you want, take a day off when you want, spend time with your spouse and kids when you want, and take a cruise or trip when you want.

3. Residual income opens up a lot more opportunities. If you have a flow of money coming in that pays all your monthly bills you can take more chances. You might want to start your dream business. Having that passive cash flow can allow you to plunge into starting a new business without having to worry so much about failing. Many people fail in new business startups because they do not make enough early on to keep the business afloat. They cannot last long enough for the business to become established and feel pressure to make it an overnight success. Think about the times you had a great chance to buy something of value at a bargain price but didn't have the extra money for it. Someone else bought it and turned a nice profit. Or the times you could have invested in a stock before it fully took off (like Google). Having a passive income allows you to take full advantage of these opportunities.

Hopefully, this article has opened your eyes to the benefits that a passive residual income stream can bring to your life.

Business & Money Making Ideas – Passive Income – Part - 1

Author: Rocky

One of the best Business & Money making ideas is having a Passive income. Just Imagine having a life where we have to work only once and the money keeps coming in again and again, weeks after weeks, months after months. This, in a nutshell, is what the concept of Passive income is all about and it can do wonders for your Personal finances.

It is the best amongst all the business & money making ideas in the world because it comes in automatically, without any major involvement on our part. (Although we have to do the initial hard work for generating it).

Here we discuss some of the business opportunities of generating Passive income.

1)

Commercial Investment Properties

When one owns Income producing commercial investment properties (Those which you own and have given out on rent), then they can be considered a superb source of Passive income. This is because the tenants would be working to run their businesses and they would be paying the landlord a fixed rent on a monthly basis just for using the commercial investment properties.

Initial Work Required: - One has to initially buy the commercial investment properties, probably through mortgage or by using his own personal finances and do further modifications, if required, based upon which they can be leased out to prospective tenants.

2)

Adding to the list of Business & money making ideas is having Fixed Deposits in Commercial Banks

Just imagine having a million USD in a fixed deposit in your bank, from where you earn a minimum of 10 % per annum. That makes it USD 1, 00,000 per year or close to USD 8000/- per month, And the best part is that you are not even working to earn that USD 8000/- You are free to do other things while the money comes in. So, while you are engaged in other things / pursuing other business opportunities, your personal finances are growing safely in the bank.

(Though in the above point, we have taken a million dollars just as an example, but it applies to small sums of money as well).

Initial Work Required: - One needs to work and generate sizable savings / personal finances in his bank prior to investing in a bank deposit.

3)

Yet another avenue for generating Passive income among the various business & money making ideas , is having your Network Marketing Business

Business opportunities in Network Marketing are based upon the fact that, more the number of business associates one has, more is the business volume generated and more is the possibility of generating passive income.

Once a person is able to build a strong foundation for his business (which means educating enough people about the benefits of the products, business model and making them associates in his business network, then he can be rest assured that the business can run ahead indefinitely and he can expect bigger cheques every month in his mail. Thus, it can be a good money making opportunit for boosting your personal finances.

4)

Further adding to the list of business & money making ideas , are Patents, Books, Songs and other similar Royalty income generating assets.

Under this category, the singers, writers and inventors own the rights to their respective assets and whoever wishes to use their work would be giving a royalty income to the creator of the asset. So, here the owner does the hard work only once and gets paid repeatedly.

I Hope you have enjoyed reading this article. As always, comments are Welcome and Encouraged. Cheers...

Passive And Residual On-line Income, Is There A Difference?

Author: Kristy Taylor

There are so many trendy phrases on-line, as well as jargon that is too technical for the average user, that sometimes it is hard to decipher it all. Even with something so easy as passive income and residual income. Web page upon web page is using the two terms interchangeably and that is wrong. There is a slight, but significant, difference between the two.

Let us begin by going to the most basic difference, the definitions of both.

Passive Income
Income that is earned through investments, real estate or certain internet ventures. Once the initial investment has been made (whether it be in time or monetarily), the individual does not have to be actively involved after that to make money. View yourself being passive and what do you see? Someone sitting, being lazy and inactive! That is just how passive income works. You don't have to do anything to make the money you receive.

Residual Income
Payments made to an individual based on a specific time table after a sale. The amount of each payment is normally a pre-agreed upon amount. Although not an on-line example, royalties are considered to be residual income. Whether the person is a writer, an actor or an illustrator, these people get paid for works that get sold and re-sold and placed into syndication.

When you look at these definitions, you can see that residual income can be called passive income under most conditions, but the reverse is never the case. Once you have put significant work into making the money, you are looking at residual income that will turn passive with time.

So, when you are looking at making money on-line, there are some methods that are 'passive' and some that are 'residual'. Let us take a look at some from each category.

Passive Income Methods:

1. Search Engine Optimization, also known by the acronym SEO, is a passive way to get income. When a search engine ranks you in the top 10, you will get targeted Internet traffic to your site. Whether you are selling products, a service, or just information, you can get passive income just by getting those people to your site once it has been created.

2. Pay Per Click advertising, or PPC advertising, is a passive way to get income. Although you must invest in the advertising, these targeted ads draw business to your site. Once that has been set up with a PPC advertising service, no time or effort is required on your part.

Once these methods of making money are in place, you sit back and have no further investment of time or money ahead of you. You simply enjoy the income.

Residual Income Methods:

1. Selling anything on-line, whether it is a good or service, where the fee is automatically renewed every so often is a residual way to make income.

2. Network marketing which requires you to go out and get customers or find representatives to get customers, from which you earn commissions every month is a residual way to make income.

Affiliate programs fall somewhere between the two. Sometimes they will take very little effort on your part, even from the start, so can be considered passive. However, there are times when a great amount of effort is put forth on your part and payments will be made in such a way that they would be considered residual.

No matter which road you choose, both passive and residual income are great ways to supplement your income or raise the level of your lifestyle. With research, practice, and a little bit of good luck, you can make a good amount of money with either.

What is Passive Income? -- Self Help Finance

Author: Scott Huey

What's passive income? Derived from real estate and business investments in which the individual is not actively involved, such as a limited partnership. Take this example, if you own a self-managed property that returns rental income to you, that’s passive income. If you write a book, then the royalties from that book are passive income. If you create a web site, income from ads on that site are passive income. I view the archives of some of my web sites archives as passive income, since I don’t actively edit or modify those pages anymore.

What about income off of stocks and investments? Sure you can look at these as passive but has relatively low returns and it takes a lot of capital just sitting there to make you any kind of real money.

What’s the point? The point is that if you can accumulate enough strings of passive and make enough to match your primary income, it will become your primary income. This is a way to gain freedom from your employer and give you more time to create more passive income.

Creating passive income? The first thing you need to do to start building up your income is to start spending less than you’re bringing in. If you’re spending everything you make each month, you won't have anything left over to invest into earning passive income. This means you have to be cheap and you also that you have to pay off those high-interest debts and credit cards, as these merely drain money and lets someone create passive income on you.

Once your finances are in tip top shape, start saving for and investing in things that see some kind of rate of return, such as rental properties, animals or web sites. Anything that requires a primary one time investment and pays you back over and over, that is what you invest in.

When you’ve got an asset that can run on its own, then start saving for another, and another, and another, until you have enough passive so that you can cover your monthly expenses. At this point, you’re very close to leaving work, but keep at it until you can cover your monthly expenses and also invest a healthy amount of the income into more assets.

Looking At Passive Income Opportunities

Author: Richard Trott

Passive income is money that comes to you at regular intervals for which you do not have to work or, an affiliation with a business in which you do not actively participate, but receive income from on a regular basis. If you receive money on a regular basis and do not actively work for it, that is considered passive income. If you have an investment of time or money in a business but do not actively participate in the business then the money you receive is a passive income.

When you receive money from rental property which you may own, or from a business in which you have a vested interest but do not actively participate, it is considered passive income. However, the Internal Revenue Service may not see it as passive income. Some of the incomes the IRS does not see as passive are: interest, dividends, royalties, gains on stocks and bonds, annuities, lottery winnings and salaries.

Have you ever seen advertisements for income opportunities in which they claim a residual income of thousands of dollars per week? Such passive income opportunities are usually not legitimate. They are usually scams. Most of them require money up front before you receive any information from them. Do not pay any money up front but research the company and their opportunities before going into any kind of business with them.

There is no reason to have to use the advertised business opportunities because with some ingenuity and creativity you can make your own business opportunity that will provide you with a passive income. Anything worth doing is worth doing well, and means hard work. If you create your own business opportunity you will have to work at it to make it a success. Start-up may mean an investment of some extend but it always involves work. There may be some monetary investment but the amount depends on what you plan to do.

There are some passive income opportunities that do not require a monetary investment, only some hard work on your part.

Look for companies that will let you write articles and post them on their website to sell to their clients. Each time an article is sold will receive a percentage of that sale. One article may be sold several times and each time it is sold that is passive income for you.

If you have your own website you may consider becoming an affiliate to a company that has a affiliate program. You can advertise their product or service and each time someone buys the product or service from your website you receive a commission. You will not have to actively sell but you do have to advertise the product or service and market your website to get the proper kind of traffic to it.

If you like to take pictures and do a good job at it then look for companies online that will buy those photos from you. The pictures have to be a good quality and interesting. These too can be sold more than one time.
